W3Schools was the reason i learned the higher-order-function .then (). There are certainly problems with W3Schools, but only one of the reasons u mentioned.

Javascript is full of things that most developers rarely use. (How many times do you use more than two parameters in a .map () method?) if you are reading about the reduce function for instance and you don’t even understand parameters or objects or callbacks or return functions or syntax, it’s going to be super confusing.

I don't think there's much value in working top to bottom on w3 schools JavaScript section; it doesn't really show any detail on usage or build to any major projects. If I was trying to learn from scratch again, I'd look for a more comprehensive course that builds to some decent sized projects.

Best alternative to W3schools? Is there a better alternative to W3Schools? I like their format of teaching aka having quick and simple things you can instantly apply to your code. However, their knowledge is limited and sometimes even wrong/bad practice (still using var in JavaScript, recommending modules which are outdated)

W3Schools is much better than it was 10 years ago. My biggest problem with the site today is that the tutorials seem to be optimized for copy/paste rather than promoting secure, performant, idiomatic code. MDN is still the best resource for up-to-date, accurate, and detailed information on web technologies.
